Pretty Average

I'm a pretty intense user of android, I'm not totally lost in the SDK either. I am literally amazed how much people rave about the Samsung galaxy handsets. Not least because they aren't real android but a horrible frankenstiens monster of poorly executed Samsung 'software' and original google that has been watered down and tampered with. The display is nothing special, any amoled could be configured like the one in the edge its just a clever version of bezel that gives the appearance of the panel wrapping around (its just thicker glass people!). The built in Samsung apps can't be disabled and leave the user cut short of real Marshmallow OS. I don't like tampered with OS especially if its only half done, Sony's OS is much sleeker, Motorola's Pure interpretation is utterly incomparable with Samsungs attempt and even domestic chinese built handsets make a better job of the internet browser. Overall the S7 in my opinion is overrated and pretty lacklustre in day to day performance (sure the antutu is high enough but its pretty easy to optimise for those kind of tests). Better handsets out there for less money. Lets get real though, the build is really nice, the headphone audio is as usual brilliant (thanks to Wolfson DACS) and it has some clever ideas (ip68; thanks sony, mega battery and turbo charging; thanks motorola) but its too far up its own grille to keep it real and deliver what the hardware is painfully capable of. Thanks 'Touch wiz' you blew it again!
